We will hold Registration & Orientation on Thursday, August 26, 2010, 7pm at our meeting location below.  All prospective students and parents must attend. Camps are mandatory for all novice students (see Membership Requirements & Policies page).

Meeting Times

Thursdays 6-9pm (meetings begin promptly)

1^st, 3^rd & 5^th Thursdays of the month – Debate only

       6-7 Debate topic discussion

       7-8 Debate theory (Experienced & Novice students split)

       8-9 Debate rounds

2^nd & 4^th Thursdays of the month – Debate, Speech & Logic

       6-8 Speech

       8-9 Debate rounds OR Logic

 

Childcare Provided

One parent from each family is required to attend club meetings with his or her student(s), so we offer childcare for parents who wouldn’t otherwise be able to come.  Siblings interested in Jr. Speech are welcome to come to speech meetings, at no additional cost, in order to learn, practice and be critiqued.

Mission Statement

Lewisville Area Homeschool Speech and Debate Club (LAHSD) is a Christian speech and debate club for homeschooled students.  The mission of our club is to raise up Christian leaders who can articulate their values to an unbelieving world, by facilitating the training necessary to prepare students for NCFCA and Stoa competition.  NCFCA and Stoa tournaments provide checkpoints throughout the season for students to prepare, practice and polish speeches and debate cases.
